Coach Ken Annual Softball Tournament
Have Fun!
· Participants:
o Two Divisions: Women’s Division and Co-Ed Division
o Maximum 12 players per team.
§ Women’s Division
· Women ages 16+
· Levels
o Beginner- Never played before
o Intermediate – Haven’t played in a while.
o Advanced – Play actively.
§ Co-Ed Division
· Men and Women ages 16+
· Teams must have (5) females on the roster and (3) in the field.
· Levels
o Beginner- Never played before
o Intermediate – Haven’t played in a while
o Advanced – Play actively
· Cost
o Team $400
o Individual $40
· Game:
o (7) Inning Game or 1 Hour 45 Minute Time Cap.
o (5) Run Rule Per Inning, Except for the Last Inning.
o Home Run Rule: There will be a (4) home runs per game allowed any home runs after will be ruled an out and thereafter. We are playing on fenced in fields and they back up to each other as well as the concession area. We want everyone to have a good time and we would like to minimize the balls flying into the opposite field as well as the consumer area.
o Small Arc Pitch (Shoulder Level)
o All Catchers MUST Wear a Mask. A Fielders Mask may be worn
§ If your team needs a mask, find a Volunteer and let them know.
o Spare Pitchers for Teams - Your team can use a pitcher for the Individual Team.
o No Bunting/Slap Hitting
o Pitch Count: Starts at 0-0
o Strikes: Each Batter Gets (3) Strikes. A Strike is when the ball passes through the strike zone and a batter swings and misses. If the batter fouls the ball off with (2) strikes, they will be allowed to swing until they miss or put the ball in play.
o Substitute Runner: You can have (1) substitute runner per inning. It is the person who was last out.
o Obstruction: No blocking the base. It will consider an obstruction; the runner has the right to the base.
§ You cannot block or tag the safety base for an out.
o Interference: Runners cannot interfere with a play being made.
§ If a player is actively fielding a ball, the runner must not interfere.
o No Stealing, Leading or Passed Balls.
o No Sliding or Diving
· Umpire Official Scoring
o Volunteer Umpires
o Calls Balls and Strikes
o Umpires will call base runners out
o Keep track of outs
o Keep runs scored (Teams shall keep track of runs as well)
o Keep the game moving on time
